What Is Stephen Ministry?

God's Love in Action

Stephen Ministry is a Christian ministry where trained, confidential laypeople provide one-on-one emotional and spiritual care by listening, encouraging, and praying with individuals facing life crises like grief, illness, or job loss. Stephen Ministers demonstrate God's love through compassionate support, not counseling. Stephen Ministers walk with people during tough times, offering a supportive presence for as long as needed, ensuring confidentiality, and connecting people to God's presence.

Our Stephen Ministers have received over 60 hours of intense training and will continue to participate in a Supervision Group as well as continuing education.  They are trained to walk with people who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss and many other life difficulties.
