New Revised Standard w/ Apocrypha  The New Revised Standard is a popular translation that follows in the traditions of the King James and Revised Standard Versions. It was written with the goal of preserving the best of the older versions while incorporating modern English.

Four offices can be prayed:  Morning, Midday, Evening, and Compline Prayer.  The Daily Office Lectionary is used for the Daily Office services of Morning and Evening Prayer.  The DOL found in the 2019 BCP is an attempt to return to Archbishop Thomas Cranmer’s original vision of going through the books of the Bible in sequence in one calendar year.  It is a one-year cycle of readings, but it can be adapted for use as a two-year lectionary.  It is based on the civil calendar year, not the liturgical year.  However, note reading the book of Revelation during Advent is still kept.  Books of the Bible are read sequentially.

To Be a Christian   This catechism (a text used for instruction of Christian disciples) is designed as a resource manual for the renewal of Anglican catechetical practice. It presents the essential building blocks of classic catechetical instruction: the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Ten Commandments (the Decalogue). To these is added an initial section especially intended for those with no prior knowledge of the Gospel. Each section is presented in the question-and-answer form that became standard in the sixteenth-century because of its proven effectiveness. Each section is also set out with its practical implications, together with biblical references.
